Joy Ragon, MFT, JD, RN, speech/language pathologist and learning disabilities specialist has worked for the past 30 years with children and adults who live with some form of deficit in neurological functioning she to brain injury. With the research into the impact of psychoanalysis on traumatic brain injury, she is integrating these different fields into a conceptual framework that supports her observations that empathic attunement and relationship, particularly as embodied in the psychoanalytic relationship, provide the containing, nutritive environment necessary for the evolution of neurological function in the traumatized brain. She has a private practice and is a member of the California Neuropsychoanalytic Research Group.
